Merci

It has been fantastic to watch the migration of content from walled gardens to this open, consumable architecture. Google, and more recently Yahoo!, is not only “organizing the worlds content” but they are democratizing it for the world to use and consume in the medium and format that fits their needs best. They very easily could keep this information locked down in their walled garden where they could benefit and charge people through the nose to access it, but they have seen the value in generating a community for building tools around the organized content.
For anyone who hasn’t tried to do it, organizing content in a consistent and consumable format is a Herculean task. So I guess what I am trying to say is Thank You! Thank you to Google, Yahoo!, Amazon, Flickr and all of the others evangelizing the Web 2.0 ideals. You make my life as a technology and information junkie a fun place to be and I can’t wait to see how all of this information and services starts getting used when the development community around it matures.
