Coming back
Posted by Ryan Sarver under: Personal .
Its been a long time since I have made a post to the site… I have been so wrapped up in everything going on around me in my personal and professional life. But, whatever the reason, I am going to make an effort to keep pushing content on here.
I spend a major part of my time thinking up new ideas or spins on already existing products to see how we can better our own company products, develop applications that target an under-served niche or just seem plain cool. Writing to the blog helps me solidify some of these ideas into a more concrete form.
Recently my interests have been in the fields of Collaborative filtering, social networks and mobile platforms. I have been working closely with Tim Walling (who FINALLY got his own blog going) on reviewing and learning more about the currently available platforms for mobile development, more specifically J2ME and FlashLite 1.1.
In the field of collaborative filtering, I have been working on an app that melds CF and weblogs. I am working on revising how it recommends users and feeds and will hopefully be able to release it with a set of open APIs for 3rd party apps. More on that as I get further along.
Be sure to check out Tim’s site… some great stuff on Flash Lite and developments around Macromedia’s mobile platform.
