Macromedia Flex

Posted by Ryan Sarver under: Programming .

Many people already know that Macromedia finally released Royale as Macromedia Flex a few weeks ago, but for those of you who don’t and are interested in web applications, go check it out. Essentially Flex will be a true Rich Internet Application in that it push lots of the load to the client, freeing up the server from heavy usage and allowing people to put rich interfaces on legacy apps. There is a lot more to it than that, but just read up on the dev site, or check out Christophes Blog which deals strictly with Flex and design patterns. Awesome reading, and I really look forward to following the development of Flex as a product.
